    The changing requirements of the current cities demand new infrastructural projects; these projects often overlap with urban archaeological sites. The infrastructural projects are endeavored to be completed briskly owing to many financial, political, and sociological factors. Therefore, the required duration for the archaeological heritage research and the time scheduling of the infrastructural projects do not correspond with each other. In this study, on the Beşiktaş Metro Station Excavation and Haydarpaşa Station Area Excavation; the factors affecting the research on cultural heritage in infrastructural projects located in urban archaeological areas were examined; the effects and the results of time pressure and ambitious expectations about the speed of work in infrastructural projects on the preservation of cultural heritage were evaluated.
