Book Part Citation Count: 16A Single Matching Network Design for a Double Band Pifa Antenna Via Simplified Real Frequency Technique(2006) Yarman, Binboğa Sıddık; Şengül, Metin Y.; Lindbergh, Peter; Rydberg, AndersIn this paper, matched performance of a double band PIFA antenna is reported. The transducer power gain of the antenna is optimized over the commercialized wireless communication bands of 824-960 MHz and 1710-1990 MHz using only one matching network. In the design process, several commercially available computer aided design packages with variety of different matching network topologies were employed. The best result was obtained by using the Simplified Real Frequency Technique, which in turn yields an "easy to implement circuit topology". The matched antenna provides an average transducer power gain of -1.6±0.4 dB in 824-960 MHz and -2.2±0.5 dB in 1710-1990 MHz.Book Part Citation Count: 5A Single Matching Network Design for a Dual Band Pifa Antenna Via Simplified Real Frequency Technique(2006) Lindberg, Peter; Şengül, Metin Y.; Çimen, Ebru Gürsu; Yarman, Binboğa Sıddık; Rydberg, Anders; Aksen, AhmetIn this paper, the matched performance of a dual band PIFA antenna is reported. The return loss of the antenna has been optimized over the popular commercial wireless communication bands of 824-960 MHz and 1710-1990 MHz using only one matching network. The network was synthesized using the Simplified Real Frequency Technique, which yields an "easy to implement circuit topology" and realizable component values. With the implemented matching network, a simultaneous measured bandwidth enhancement of 58% and 127% has been achieved in the low and high frequency band, respectively, without significant reduction of radiation efficiency.
