Abstract
Bu çalışmada organizasyonlarda pazarlamanın bir fonksiyonu olan ürün yönetimi ve ürün yöneticisinin görev tanımları, sorumlulukları ve faaliyetleri araştırılmış, ürün yönetiminde ortaya çıkan yeni fikirler, avantaj ve dezavantajlar incelenmiştir. Çalışmada örnek uygulama olarak dünyada 41 ülkede üretim yapan, 170 ülkede müşterilerine ulaşan ve global olarak kimya sektöründe faaliyet gösteren BASF Grubu seçilmiştir. İncelemenin içeriği grubun farklı bölgelerinde yer alan ürün yöneticileriyle röpörtaj yapılarak ve grubun organizasyon şemaları ve görev tanımları irdelenerek hazırlanmıştır. Ürün karmasının tamamı endüstriyel kimyasallar olan BASF şirketler grubunda “ürün yönetimi” bölümleri global, bölgesel ve iş birimleri düzeyinde incelenmiştir.
Product management as a marketing function has been investigated in this study, along with duties, activities and responsibilities of product managers in organizations. Furthermore, new ideas, advantages and disadvantages in the product management system has been included in the study. The BASF Group, manufacturing in 41 countries and reaching customers in 170 countries throughout the world in the chemical industry has been selected as example. Research has been carried out with interviews with product managers working in various locations of the group and also examining organizational charts and roles for the product managers. The BASF Group, having a whole product mix of industrial chemicals in the global market, has been studied for its product management system in the global, strategic business units and business center levels.
