Abstract
This study aims to examine the process which extends from the imagination of given circumstances to the emergence of action in Konstantin Stanislavski's Psychotechnique in the guidance of Antonio Damasio's Somatic Markers Hypothesis. The thesis takes the Stanislavski System, which keeps its influence on acting practices since the 1900s, as a theoretical basis. The research involves the examination of Psychotechnique with a specific neuroscientific point of view. It is based on Stanislavski's and Damasio's works. During the course of the research, limited amount of resources regarding this subject were identified, therefore this thesis aims to provide an academic contribution to the field and to encourage further studies to be undertaken thereafter.
