Türkiye'de Terörizmin Turist Davranışlarına Etkisi Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Abstract

Turizm, sağladığı ekonomik, sosyal ve kültürel faydalardan dolayı özellikle de gelişmekte olan ülke ekonomileri için vazgeçilmez bir endüstridir. Bir ülkedeki turizm faaliyetlerinin sürekliliğinin sağlanması öncelikli olarak, o ülkenin can ve mal güvenliği konusundaki imajına bağlıdır.Terörizmin turizm ve turist davranışları üzerindeki en önemli etkisi talepte yarattığı daralmadır. Turistlere yönelik terör eylemleri sözlü ve yazılı basında sıkça ve detaylı biçimde yer aldığından, çok kısa sürede çok geniş halk kitlelerine ulaşabilmekte ve teröristler tarafından verilmek istenen mesaj yerine kolaylıkla ulaşmaktadır. Terörizmin toplumda yarattığı gerginlik ve baskılar turistlerin tercihlerini değiştirtmekte ve terör eylemlerinin yarattığı güvensizlik ortamı turist davranışını olumsuz yönde etkilemekte ve turisti söz konusu bölge dışındaki diğer alternatiflere yönlendirmektedir.Turistlere yönelik terör eylemleri sözlü ve yazılı basında sıkça ve detaylı biçimde yer aldığından, çok kısa sürede çok geniş halk kitlelerine ulaşabilmekte ve teröristler tarafından verilmek istenen mesaj yerine kolaylıkla ulaşmaktadır.Bu çalışmadaki temel amaç terörist faaliyetler ile bunların turizm ama özellikle turizmin öznesi olarak niteleyebileceğimiz turistlerin davranışı üzerindeki etkilerini incelemektir.Değerlendirilen 90 adet anket, terörizmin ,ekonomik krizlerden sonra, turist davranışlarınıolumsuz yönde etkileyen ikinci önemli faktör olduğunu göstermiştir. Terör eylemlerininyarattığı güvensizlik ortamının turisti söz konusu bölge dışındaki diğer alternatiflere yönlendirdiği ortaya çıkmıştır.

Tourism, with its economic, social and cultural contributions, is a vital industry especially for developing countries. The sustainability of tourism activities in a country is firstly depended on her image about life and property safety.The vital impact of terrorism upon tourism and tourist behavior is the contraction in demand created by terrorism. Terror actions can easily be dispersed to large public and the messages of terrorists can reach the places where they want it to reach, since the mass media cover terrorist attacks very largely and in details. The tension and pressures created by terrorism can change the choices of tourists; the insecure atmosphere resulted by terrorist actions affect tourist behaviors negatively and directs tourists to other destinations alternative to the said destination affected by terrorism.Terror activities against tourists can take place in media frequently and detailed so in a very short time the public is easily informed about the activities and the message, which is intended to given by terrorists, can easily reach to the target.The main objective in this study is to assess the impact of terrorist actions on tourism but especially on behaviors of tourists who can be labeled as the subject of tourism.Assessed 90 questionnaires exhibited that terrorism is the second important factor negatively affecting tourist behavior after economic crisis. It is found that insecure environment created by terrorist activities direct tourists to other alternatives other than the destination.
