| dc.description.abstract | The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the structure and dimensions of unemployment in Turkey. Besides its dimensions, the composition of unemployment is also very important and the unemployment rates are higher than the official rates in Turkey. The unemployment is an urban intensive problem and it is widespread especially over the young workers, women and low-educated labor in Turkey. The amount of people who has been unemployed more than one year is also very high. The implication of active employment policies which increase skills of labor and the creation new employment areas with macroeconomic policies are crucial to solve unemployment problem. | en_US |
